CNBC Arabian Commercial Property Architecture Award – Egypt was presented
by International Homes magazine to Hamza Associates for its design of
the
Low Cost Housing project in 6th of October City.
The Deep Foundation Institute's Special Recognition Award is
presented to Hamza Associates for
the
Four Seasons Hotel at the Nile Plaza.
The American Society of Civil Engineers OPAL Award for Merit is
presented to Hamza Associates for its design and
engineering achievements on the Mubarak Pumping Station
in Egypt's South Valley Development Project (Toshka).  
The Aga Khan Award for Architecture is presented to
Hamza Associates on behalf of the Snøhetta/Hamza Consortium
for Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
 
Hamza Associates receives the Deep Foundation Institute's
Special Recognition Award
for its design and engineering work
on the Central Bank of Egypt's headquarters building.
 
The Deep Foundation Institute presents Dr. Mamdouh Hamza
with its Special Recognition Award for the
East Port Said Port quay wall.
 
The International Association for Bridge and Structural
Engineering Symposium
presented its Outstanding Structural Award to
Hamza Associates for its engineering achievements on
Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
 
Dr. Mamdouh Hamza receives the 2002 Newsmaker Award from
Engineering News Record for Hamza Associates' design of the
East Port Said Port quay wall, an innovative quay wall
in unstable soil conditions.
Hamza Associates is awarded an Outstanding Civil Engineering
Achievement Merit Award from the American Society of Civil
Engineers
for Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the first project
outside of the U.S. to receive an ASCE merit award.
 
Hamza Associates receives the American Society of Civil Engineers'
first-ever Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement (OCEA)
International Trophy
for Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
World Architecture magazine in association with the
Royal Institute of British Architects
awarded the
Hamza/Snøhetta consortium its World Architecture Award,
Africa & the Middle East
for their work
on  Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
 
The Deep Foundation Institute's Outstanding Project Awards Program
presented Hamza Associates with its Special Recognition Award
for its outstanding geotechnical work
on  Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Dr. Mamdouh Hamza receives the Bill Curtin Medal from the
Institution of Civil Engineers for his paper 
"Bank to the Future – Alexandria's New World Library," published in
Civil Engineering
- May 2002.
 
The Snøhetta/Hamza Consortium receives the
International Performance of the Year Award
for 2001,
part of the Quality in Construction Awards organized by Construction
 News, for the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Hamza Associates served as
structural engineer on the project with Snøhetta, the architect.
